Owen Sound is a new venue for 2007. The Olympic distance race will offer a challenging bike course along the scenic Georgian Bay and a flat run around the city harbour. For the competitor athletes, Owen Sound is 2008 world championships qualifier, and for children a friendly and family “kid’s of steels” course is also scheduled.

For the second time of the season, The Subaru Triathlon Series stops at Guelph Lake (refer to the Wilderness Ontario package for the first stay at this race site). Guelph Lake is one of the most popular events of the Subaru Triathlon series. In a beautiful conservation area, you will swim in a calm and warm man-made lake, bike the challenging hilly course and finish the run in the park. With a sprint distance race and a kid’s fun run, Guelph Lake is the perfect destination for the families and the perfect race preparation for Owen Sound.

Suggested Stay: In Owen Sound, you’ll be staying at the official hotel of the course, literally located at the site. Just walk to the starting line! Don’t miss the visit of the scenic Bruce Peninsula, with beautiful small towns such as Tobermery and Wiarton on the Lake Huron. Plan to stay at least one week in the Bruce Peninsula region!

Guelph town is about an hour drive from downtown Toronto. A fantastic location for a day trip, picnic and BBQ for the whole family.
You will be based at Toronto for the remaining days of your trip. Visit of the city and its islands and an escape to Niagara Falls will ideally complete your package.
